Dale Molaison
Bass and Vocals

Dale started his music career 45 years ago
on the banks of the Mississippi in Westwego, Louisiana. He didn't know much
about music back then (still doesn't but he fakes it a lot better) but he did
know that he liked the way it made him feel. The fact that girls seemed to
gravitate to musicians also had something to do with his decision to become a
musician. He started out his music career as a sax man. But Dale liked to sing so the
sax had to go. He became a vocalist with local high school bands and while
serving 3 years in the Army (2 in Vietnam) he taught himself rhythm guitar,
doing a short tour with the USO his last 4 months in Nam. After coming back to the
states he went back to New Orleans and played in 2 local high profile bands,
teaching himself to play bass in the process. While in Louisiana he paid his dues
playing the smoky, all night clubs in New Orleans. There were many nights he didn't get
home until after the sun had risen.
Dale came to Houston 27 years ago from the swamps of
Louisiana. After arriving in Houston Dale joined the blues band
of Big Walter Price. Big Walter was one of the "original" Houston blues
musicians. But playing the blues made him (yeah, you guessed it) blue. So Dale moved on to
more lively music. There were two other bands before joining Easy Money. One, a dance band
called Hit-n-Run; and the other a Southern Rock band called Southern Cross. Both were fun
and satisfying but he didn't hit pay dirt until he got the audition call from Easy Money.
That was back in 1989, and the band has been making beautiful music ever since. Dale
has four children (he didn't play music every night). He
has a farm/ranch north of Conroe and spends most of his days doing engineering work from
his computer at home.
